Betty Marcucci Passes Away

Betty J. Marcucci, age 73, of Monmouth, Iowa, died on Thursday morning, March 19, 2009, at her home in Monmouth, Iowa. Betty J. Nairn was born on November 7, 1935 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Ray Nairn and Clara (Hayes) Nairn.  She married Gib Marcucci on February 19, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Betty was on the Tri-County Bank Board of Directors for 15 years, from 1993 to 2008. She also was a member of the Baldwin/Monmouth Federated Women’s Club. She enjoyed ceramics, attending auctions and flea markets, tending to her flowers, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds, and horseshows. She was known as someone who was always kind and polite. She liked everyone and had a big heart. She especially loved her grandchildren and family, and her dogs, Missy and Spanky.

Betty is survived by, her husband, Gib Marcucci of Monmouth, IA; daughters, Lorrie (Tim) Terrell of Swisher, IA, and Cindy (Kevin) Ireland of Ely, IA; grandchildren- Andy Terrell, Kalli Terrell and Tabitha (Jacob) Galloway; and a special cousin- Barb (Gerald) Wirth of Lost Nation, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald “Bud” Nairn, and a sister- Allene Nairn. 

Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Jackson County.
