Double D Ranch Sponsors Brunch and Silent Raffle to Benefit UPHA Dewey Henderson Benevolent Fund

In efforts to raise money to benefit the UPHA Dewey Henderson Benevolent Fund, Dave and Dena Lopez of Double D Ranch LLC are sponsoring a brunch and silent auction to be held at the medieval Castle Post on Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Dewey Henderson Benevolent Fund, an IRS 501 © (3) fund established to benefit UPHA members in need due to the effects of health issues, fires, theft, injury or accidents.

Tickets are $100 a piece and only 200 will be sold. Prizes at the brunch include a drawing for a 3 piece collection of Freedman Harness items including a Zip Top Leather Belize, a leather-wrapped thermos, and a leather banker’s bag—the entire collection valued at $750. In addition, each ticket holder will have a chance to win up to $10,000 with the remaining $10,000 going to the UPHA Dewey Henderson fund.

To view the castle, visit www.thecastlepost.com. Special room rates are available for those attending the Lexington Junior League Horse Show. To reserve a room, contact Dana Martin at Castle Post (859-879-1000) by July 1st, 2009.

Sponsors who are donating items for the silent auction are still stepping forward to help. Dena has expressed her hope that this event will raise $25,000. Sponsors will be recognized each evening of the Lexington Junior League Horse Show on the JumboTron and in the event brochure, as well as having a banner ad on the UPHA website for one year.

To be included among those supporting this worthy cause by buying a ticket or joining as a sponsor, please contact Karen Richardson at HYPERLINK "mailto: Uphakgr@aol.com" or 859-231-5070 or download a ticket reservation form from the UPHA web site, www.PHAOnline.com. Please make your check payable to the UPHA Dewey Henderson Benevolent Fund (UPHA DHBF) and mail them to the following address: UPHA Castle Event, 4059 Iron Works Parkway, Suite 2, Lexington, KY 40511
